8 rules of personal brand for success. #GrowGramByGram

Let’s discuss how personal brand is important role for your success.

One thing that I have learned over the years is that people might have tremendous potential but they are not much known in the digital world. They are not “somebody” that people refer to. This is because either they don’t have a presence like that or if they have the presence, they are not perceived by others like that.

The way other people look at value, think about your ‘brand’ and talk about you. You might never be going to get a chance to use that potential. I have met so many professionals and consultants with a mountain of potential but they are not much known beyond their offices or network.

So I began to study what is this about branding and image that sets you up to be successful and far faster than most other people …

Let’s begin

What is a brand?

A brand is basically a promise that you make and are known for keeping to the person who you are asking or you are trying to influence.

~ Brian Tracy

How personal branding is crucial for your success?

💡 Human beings decide emotionally and justify logically.

If you have a good personal brand, people are willing to pay you more for your product and service and argue less.

How your personal brand can begin?

Your personal brand should always begin with your Values

So what does your personal brand stands for?

Quality, Excellence, Responsiveness, Teamwork, Innovation, Leadership

When you are clear about the value your personal brand will be based on, you are then able to create a tremendous presence. Start doing it today, adding INTEGRITY to it.

There is no better reputation that you can have other than people to say that when they do business with you, you always fulfil their promises.

The answer to success is to do what you have been hired to do and do it now. This expands into every area of your interactions with others.

Everything you either creates your brand or weakens or destroy your brand.

Everything Counts.

Laws of Personal Branding

According to Brian Tracy, there are 8 laws of Personal Branding.

Law 1 of Personal Branding: SPECIALIZATION

The law says, you have to focus your brand on one area or one achievement of your personality. You can not be all things to everyone. Choose to specialize either in your work or your product, your company, your industry, the media, your community etc. But you have to be focused like a laser beam on one thing. People should be able to describe you simply and clearly to others.

Law 2 of Personal Branding: LEADERSHIP

After being recognized and acknowledged as one of the most knowledgeable respected or skilled person in your field. So one of the things you ask yourself is where do I want to be a leader in my field.

And then go show it.

Law 3 of Personal Branding: PERSONALITY

Your brand must be built around your own personality. In all aspects including flaws. Now, here is a question for you what would be the personality brand for you to have.

Here is an example: A doctor who is also a splendid makeup artist.

If you want people to describe you in a particular way, what could be a good way for them to describe you?

Law 4 of Personal Branding: DISTINCTIVENESS

Once you have created your personal brand you have to express yourself in a unique way.

For Example: I know a woman who sends Thank you notes with a flower bud on every Friday. This always comes as a surprise, in the age of gifs and memes. This is a sort of thing that makes people remember her for months or even years after meeting her.

Maybe you sign your name, or dress in a particular way. You might have your own particular style with choice of colors or your presentation.

You have to be distinctive and stand out from all of your competitors.

Law 5 of Personal Branding: VISIBILITY

To be effective your personal brand must be seen repetitively and consistently. When you decided to have a brand, you signed up yourself to be in show business.

If you are not out there talking to people, getting involved, it doesn’t do any good. So be out there people will see you all the time. Very often people will hire you.

I see no reason, why people do not want to see you around, all the time.

Law 6 of Personal Branding: UTILITY

Your behaviour behind the closed doors must match your public brand. It will cause complete damage to a person’s brand, to find out that he or she is entirely different in private. One of the greatest brand claims you can get is that people say that you are always the same on the outside as you are on the inside.

Law 7 of Personal Branding: PERSISTENT

Once you establish your personal brand, give it time to grow up. Stick with your brand and ignore the fads, trends, if they do not represent you. In other words, be consistent all the time.

Law 8 of Personal Branding: GOODWILL

The more you are perceived as a intentional or well-embodied valuable idol the more influential your brand will be.

Have a positive personal brand. Let people look upto you and admire.

Here’s what you should do, the reverse engineering of your personal brand.

Ask yourself if 3 years from now, if someone decides to do a study on me and come back with a report on the kind of person I was, the way I treated other people. How people talked about my reputation and my position in their heart and minds, what words I want them to use.

Of all the words they could use what could be the one word that can help you more than anything else in your field.

It is a work of brilliance to pick a word that would be your legacy attribute. What word people should use to describe your super brand.

Next step is asking yourself, what can I do differently from now on, so that people think of me like this all the time.

Remember a brand is a promise you make.

It is saying that, if you interact with me, get involved with me, buy from me, go out with me .. so on this is the kind of person you will get.
This is the kind of person that you will experience.

Now, it is hard to develop a reputation for all this doing that you say, you will be doing .. YES, it is.

But what difference having a personal brand does it make in your life?

People who have a positive personal brand get jobs much easier, they are hired faster, they are paid more, they are promoted faster than people who don’t. Because the first thing people do is check your reputation – YOUR PERSONAL BRAND.

If you find this blog, useful and valuable. If this teaches you more about setting yourself for success, share with your friends or anyone else who might benefit from this information.
